Cycling in Prague

Prague offers some of the most stunning and recognisable architectural features and monuments in Europe, and it's cosy streets are a natural safe haven for cyclists. You'll discover pleasant cycling paths that connect Prague with the most important and famous monuments Prague has to offer, such as Ghotic Karlštejn castle.

Cycle Paths/Routes:

From Vltava river to Pruhonice garden - This loop will take you from Vltava river to Pruhonice Castle and garden (listed on UNESCO heritage list). The total distance ranges from 44 km up to 70 km.

Attractions/sights accessible by bicycle from the city centre:

Karlštejn Castle - founded in 1348 by the Charles IV, King of Bohemia and Holy Roman Emperor. The route is 32 km and follows Vltava river and Berounka river banks. It is almost completely flat and suitable for cyclists of all abilities.

Mayor's stance on cycling:

The government add new cycling paths and corridors each year to make the network of cycling paths in city larger and to improve safety on the roads.
